This is Hull and East Riding --
WEST HULL: Police investigating an attempted abduction have reviewed CCTV of the area.
Eight-year-old Matthew Hudson was approached by a man while he was playing outside his home in Park Avenue at 4.50pm on Monday.
The man asked him to get in his car before threatening him and hitting him over the head.
Police officers have now visited Matthew and his mum Clare.
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: "We attended the family's home address and spoke with the child in the company of his mother to get a full account.
"We also collected CCTV from the area and have reviewed it but it has not captured anything of relevance.
"Inquiries are ongoing and we would urge people not to panic unduly because the intentions of the man involved in this are not known.
"This could have been some sort of misunderstanding rather than anything more sinister.
"Parents and children simply need to be aware of stranger danger and remain vigilant."
Anyone with information should call Humberside Police on 101, quoting log 566 of July 15. Reported by This is 1 day ago.
