POLICE investigating a robbery in Swansea are linking it to three other incidents.
A 38-year-old woman was walking on Princess Way, near the Cross Keys pub at 8.45pm on Wednesday, August 7, when a motorcycle with a rider and passenger rode up behind and snatched her cream coloured handbag, which contained a quantity of cash, driving licence, passport, and credit cards.
It was then seen to drive off down Princess Way in the direction of York Street.
The bike used is believed to be a dark coloured moped. The suspects were both wearing light-coloured crash helmets.
Officers are investigating a similar incident of attempted robbery which happened at around 8.30pm on the same night, involving a 35-year-old woman.
She was standing at Woodfield Street in Morriston, opposite Iceland, but kept hold of her bag.
And further incidents of attempted robbery of a similar nature happened last night in the city.
At 8.50pm, a 19-year-old woman was standing near Yates pub on Caer Street, while at 9.35pm on New Cut Road a 17-year-old female victim was walking towards the city centre when someone tried to take her bag.
Detective Sergeant Steve Daniels of Swansea CID said: "The four incidents are almost identical with females carrying bags or purses and apparently being targeted.
"The incidents at Woodfield Street, Caer Street and New Cut Road were all attempted robberies where the victims managed to hold on to their property.
"We are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information about these incidents to contact the police as those responsible need to be apprehended."
