A FLASHER got more than he bargained for when he was confronted by his victim's husband.
Darryl Williams exposed himself to a woman in Hampton Road, Cotham, before scurrying off around the corner, Bristol Crown Court heard.
The next thing he knew the woman's husband appeared and asked: "Excuse me, have you flashed your penis at my wife?"
Williams claimed to have not seen her, before pleading: "Please don't call the police, I'll get into trouble and I'll be sent to prison." Police scrambled to the scene arrested him and he made no comment.
Williams, 52, of Aberdeen Road in Redland, pleaded guilty to exposure.
The court heard that in 2005 he was handed a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, and had breached it eight times. He was also in breach of an eight-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, handed to him four days before the latest offence.
Judge Carol Hagen told Williams she regarded him as a high-risk offender who would be less of a risk on anti-psychotic medication. She adjourned the case to September 12 in order for a medical report to be carried out. Remanding Williams in custody, she told him: "The alternative is a long prison sentence."
Neil Treharne, prosecuting, said Williams struck in the street.
Mr Treharne said: "The woman was extremely shocked and scared and in a highly-distressed state.
"Her husband was driving up the road and she was able to explain what happened. She described the defendant to her husband, he drove around the corner and saw the defendant crouched by a gatepost."
It was then the two conversed, the court heard, with Williams finishing off his plea to leave police out of it by making a cutthroat action.
Dianne Heys, defending, said Williams had been stable on medication but his consultant wanted to see what he would be like without it. She said: "He (Williams) has a long history of offending. He was, at the time, subject to a suspended sentence."
Miss Heys said her client could not remember the offence, but expressed remorse. Reported by This is 5 hours ago.
