Police believe witnesses may have seen assualt on Plymouth Barbican reveller

This is Devon -- A man was hit with a bottle causing an injury to his eye while outside a Plymouth bar over the bank holiday weekend. The incident took place outside the Live Lounge at the Barbican on Sunday August 25 at around 6.45-7pm. The 47-year-old victim, from the Teignmouth area, was attacked by another man wielding a bottle. This victim had to receive hospital treatment for a 1-inch cut to his right eye. One man, a 25-year-old from Plymouth, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and later released on police bail until October 11 2013. Investigating officer DC Alicia Pointon said: "This was a cowardly, unprovoked attack with the victim unable to defend himself as he was looking in the opposite direction of his attacker. "There were large crowds of people in the area at the time and we would like to speak with anyone who witnessed this."
