This is Bristol -- POLICE were out on force this morning in Bishopston ensuring cyclists stopped at red lights. Officers were stationed from 7am at traffic lights on the junctions of Gloucester Road with Zetland Road and Elton Road as well as the nearby junction of Elton Road with Salisbury Road.Motorcyclists and car drivers who pulled into the red zone at lights that is for cyclists were also spoken to and advised of the law. It is understood the operation was carried out as a result of the cyclist deaths in London as well as the death of a cyclist after they collided with an oil tanker in Failand. Last night officers were also in the vicinity of Sommerville Road in Bishopston advising cyclists who did not have lights. Reported by This is 5 hours ago.
